I was born and live in Huntington West Virginia. The son of Norman Lee Adkins, and Martha Ann Adkins (Thoms) on May 21st 1952. I graduated from Marshall University with a BA in Computer Science in 1999. I am the father to two wonderful girls and the grandfather of four incredible and beautiful grandchildren. I have always had a passion for technology. I started leaning electronics at a very early age. From about ten years old I started taking apart radios and record players to see how they worked. By the time I was in High School I was reading schematic and learing about resistors and tubes. During my time in the military I started taking correspondence courses in broadcast electronics and upon leaving the service I went to work as a Broadcast Engineer. However over the past 27 years I have worked in all areas of computers. My career in computers started when I went to work for one of the first computer stores in the United States in 1978. I actually sold Apple Serial Number S/N 101. During my time in computers I have worked with both hardware, operating systems, networking, communications, and programming. For the past thirteen years I have worked for the Federal Government as a Information Technology Specialist. My duties include management of the networks, security, end user support, web site management, consulting, and programming. I also work a secondary job as a computer consultant, programmer, web designer, web site manager, and graphic artist. About 10 years ago I started becoming very interested in programming. I attended Microsoft's Programming school in Visual Basic and Microsoft Applications Development Language. This interest in programming has now developed into a new passion as I am now working in ASP, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET, HTML, Java, and some PSP. My other interest includes photography, writing, woodworking, gourmet cooking, and travel. Look under photography and projects to see some of my latest works.
